Venice is forever linked to the water, and exploring the area involves more than just walking around to see the main attractions. The area involves numerous islands, all of which can be reached by public transit(the vaporetto takes the place of a bus elsewhere.)Explore the isaldns of the lagune. We found Burano with its colorful houses and picturesque small walkways beautiful.... More

After walking around in Venice for 3 days we decided to do something else for a change. We booked a 3 Island trip from Venice visiting Murano, Burano and Torcello. Murano is specialized in glassblowing (during your trip you visit a factory) - Burano is wellknown for its Lace and the pittoresk painted houses of the fishermen, - Torcello is... More

Great time travelling from island to island. Pity that tourists are charged three times what locals pay for public transport. I paid 53euro for a weekly ticket while locals pay 33euro for a whole month! More

If you only could imagine how interesting the lagoon islands are! Murano, Burano, Torcello- is a must to visit. And even one day is not enough! Could go again straight ahead! More

The lagoon is cheaper than Venice - Lido restaurants are typically one third cheaper. Accommodation is cheaper too, although obviously not as historic. Offshore islands of Murano (for glass making), Burano (for lace making and especially for the photogenic brightly painted houses) and Torcello (for its wonderful Byzantine Cathedral and its solitude) are well worth visiting. With the Valporetto (who are on time!!!!) we went to Murano, Burano and Torcello.....with a great overview of the Laguna. More so because one time we took the wrong Valporetto - number 2 and found ourselves going around Venice via the harbour which didn't displease us as we saw another scenery of the city More
