We had read glowing reviews about this place in various travel books. However, the cafe shakerato lacked flavour and reminded me of instant coffee. A nice touch was the liquid sugar to pour into the cup. The service could best be described as lacklustre. More

Go to Rosa Salva and either have ice cream sitting at one of the outside tables, or grab a tub/cone and go and sit on the wall near the canal. The ice cream is fantastic and watching life go by in this square whilst eating it was a favourite Venice moment! More
