About
It's no wonder that this is one of the most historic and picturesque squares in Italy: in antiquity, it served as a Roman forum; today, it contains many historic buildings, sculptures with a popular and colorful market overflowing with fresh fruits and vegetables.

And the gelato is super yummy.Really good and the staff speak English and are friendly. Highly recommendedVisited April 2023Written 17 April 2023
- Sonia50 contributionsAmazing 🤩Lovey restaurants and bars all across the square. Very welcoming and drinks and food are all reasonably priced. Love the way you get a bowl of free crisps with your drinks and the atmosphere is amazing. Would recommend having a walk around at night and take loads of photos cz it's so magical. There was also markets in the day on Saturday and Monday when we were there so lots of shopping and haggling.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 18 July 2023

With stunning buildings surrounding square it’s really awesome to see, inside square there is a variety of market stalls (not the best to buy things) including a nice water fountain and some statues. Around the perimeter of square are many restaurants that have nice quality food and variety had lunch and dinner in Square during my few days in Verona. Try to experience Piazza in the day and night as you get a great contrast with square lit up at night.Visited February 2023Travelled soloWritten 9 August 2023

It's definitely the hub of the city. Only a two minute walk from Juliets balcony. Great place to sit and people watch. Restaurants are a lot more expensive here, but you have great views. The markets sell all sort of goods and the prices are not too bad. We loved it.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 September 2023

Great public space, with a regular street market and convenient to many sights in Verona. Don't miss the Venetian lion on a pedestal. You can get a great overview from the Palazzo Maffei rooftop.

An almost inevitable stop on your walk of Verona, being central to the old town and sights close by. The market in the square seemed ok, not the best sort of market you might find but also not terribly tacky.
Worth looking.

This was a pleasant central plaza that was near everything, the tower, Romeo and Juliet balcony, shopping and many restaurant choices.
If you visit the city, you will walk through it.

Hi we are not sure as we took a train from Milan to Verona. It's best if you find parking across the Elbe river as it is only a short walk to the Piazza. hope this helps you.

Si può prendere un autobus che dalla stazione va a Porta Borsari (via Diaz) e da lì procedere per corso Portoni Borsari e, proseguendo fino alla fine, si arriva in piazza.

As a public square it's always open. Because vacation, I expect more tourists and for this reason I believe bars and restaurants would be open. Probably museums but it's better to check on Verona website
