Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took a private guided tour for the two of us in English. The guide, Fabio, is an excellent licensed Tourist Guide. He will make you discover the city with all the hidden gems - the architecture - the best viewpoint - the city history from the beginning - giving a much bigger perspective linking the city history to neighboring cities.
We highly recommend him if you travel to VERONA. A visit with him and you have seen the city with its every layers ( like lasagna).

Grazie Mille Fabio

As a foodie and a keen cook I have a lot of interest in trying different food and finding wines that fit with what you are eating. We were just 4 people, us and our friends, and Cristina was a brilliant host for Verona and showed us places which as a tourist would seem a little intimidating to enter and order food. The delicatessen showed me how to enjoy olive oil and I discovered new meat and cheese.
The ravioli which we ate in a fantastic and vibrant Osteria was awesome, the ice cream was, as always in Italy, delicious.
Also Cristina's knowledge of the town is extensive so the places we visited came with a good description of their relevance to the history of Verona.
The only thing I regret is not giving Cristina more money, as our tour actually lasted 4 hours and was on a Sunday. Also I advise anyone, no matter how big your appitite, not to eat before the tour, you'll regret it. Bon Appitito.

Having booked this trip in the UK we were pleasantly surprised by how smoothly it all went. Pick up was punctual. Our guide Francesca was witty and informed. Verona was beautiful. Our walking tour was excellent and informative culminating in a visit to the Juliet balcony and statue. Plenty of free time to wander. Punctual departure for the return journey.

We were met by our guide Maria Cristina in Piazza Della Erbe. We were very fortunate to have a tour because we were only in Verona for a day, and had not been able to book up. I would definitely recommend going to the Tourist Information in Piazza Bra’ and going on one of their tours. We chose the true story of Romeo and Juliet as the theme of our tour.
Maria was so enthusiastic and a wealth of interesting information. Learning about the background to the story, the history of the feuding families and the rise in power of the Scala family was very riveting. Maria helped us to understand the different architecture in the city, explained the history of Piazza Dante and the mercantile background to this beautiful and fascinating place.
If we had a guide book and walked around we would not have found out the amazing details that Maria told us. Ghelphs and ghibellines, the striped red and buff coloured stonework, rights of orphans, weights, measures and punishment in medieval Verona, and many more interesting topics.
I would say go on a tour from the Tourism Office, and ask for Maria Christine to be your guide. A really excellent tour guide, and a very charming and happy lady. She takes good photos as well!

Cristina Pozza met us at the train station and gave us a walking tour of Verona. She was very knowledgeable and provided us with a lot of historical information. We saw many sites we may not have seen if she had not been with us. We highly recommend Cristina should you want a guide.

Our wonderful guide Maria Cristina met us at our hotel, and whisked us off to show us Verona. She was very knowledgeable and delightful company. She also knows all the best places to eat. You can't do better.

We were lucky enough to get a walking tour with Andrea on June 28th. We had just arrived in Italy and were a bit jet-lagged. But despite some rainy weather, Andrea kept us alert and engaged for well over 2 hours! He is passionate about Verona, art, history and is incredibly generous with his time and knowledge. It was an amazing way to start an amazing trip.

We were met by our lovely guide Cristina Pizza at our hotel (ACCADEMIA) in the centre of Verona. Despite being a Saturday morning in Opera season she expertly guided us to see the key sights whilst avoiding the crowds. We were three couples from England and she took us down back streets, along the river and into the cathedral. She was clearly an expert and spoke passionately about her city: Verona. Having a guide to ourselves was a treat but was still amazing value. Her knowledge of the small details was amazing and she spoke with warmth and patience. We will be back for the food and wine tour in the future.

We spent a brilliant afternoon eating and drinking our way through some of Verona's lovely unusual, local eateries - we didn't see any other tourists in any of the places we stopped - always a positive sign!

Cristina was a brilliant tour guide, spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable about the sights and history of Verona as we made our way around the city. I won't list the places we stopped as it's Cristina's tour but suffice to say we tried delicious local Valpolicella, Bardolino and Soave; great charcuterie Italienne; saw tortellini being made 1 on1, before trying 5 different varieties - absolutely amazing.

We had a great time and would highly recommend it to anyone, it's also a great introduction to the city of Verona as Cristina will point out all the sights and give you recommendations of what to eat and where so you get the good stuff, at a great price and away from the crowds.

My only advice is DON'T eat anything before the tour, you will be too full!

We recently had the extreme pleasure of a private tour of Verona with Silvia of Colors of Italy Tours. We spent about 3 hours being shown the environs of Verona with someone who demonstrated a vast historical and contextual knowledge of a city she clearly loves and understands. We would recommend Silvia without reservation.
