Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have booked with Virginia and Romeo and Juliet Tours twice now and both day trips were out of this world. Our group was so amazed with her professionalism and knowledge of the culture and beautiful country. Our trip into the heart of Vernon was breath taking with all that she had to show us and to finish the afternoon off with two off the best wine vineyards in the world was amazing. Virginia's fun out going spirit made these day trip very memorable for our group. Again blown away by all of Vaginas outspoken knowledge from the growth of the grape to the harvest, bottling process then the proper way of tasting the awesome wine. We have many more plans to use this service again in future trips.

Romeo and Juliet Tour service comes highly recommend by the Armstrong's, Charlotte NC USA.

This was such a great and exciting experience! I will never think of Romeo and Juliet the same way again. So worth it!

Thanks to Tripadvisor we came across this fun activity in Verona. Even though we could not join a scheduled event, we did a private session with Francesco to discover the truth about Romeo and Juliette. The arrangements were done a couple of days before the planning day. They replied very promptly and efficiently by email. It is a very creative approach to enjoy the city from a different perspective. You are fully immersed in the story and the puzzles and games will keep you very busy. They take care of all the details and the connection between different locations happens very smoothly through the story. There is a break were a delightful aperitif is served in a local place. Our host Francesco made our one-day stay in Verona a very unique experience. His passion for history and his town is merged with his charismatic style to tell stories. If you like “Escape rooms” and are bored of the conventional guided tours or guidebooks, this is definitely for you. The concept they have developed is just unique. You will not be disappointed. We are eager to do the other tours they offer. Congratulations for the good job!

Francesco was our tour guide and he was welcoming from the moment we met him. We wanted to make the tour of Verona something different than the traditional for our teenage daughters. Francesco did this (for them and for us), He had fun clues and puzzles to solve which made us take a closer look at things like buildings, piazzas, etc. We learned not only about the traditional Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet from this tour, but also the other written works that could have been the forerunners to this classic. Francesco was a wealth of knowledge, and an engaging guide. This tour included an aperitif of appetizer-type foods and a drink each. The food was delicious and the locale accommodated our vegetarian needs beautifully. Highly recommend this tour.

I booked this tour not really knowing what to expect but we were presently surprised! Francesco our tour guide was brilliant and extremely knowledgeable even about things that weren't to do with our tour (killing cangrande). The tour was very interactive and it was a great way to learn about history whilst making it fun at the same time. We ended up having a private tour as another family didn't turn up which suited us! Having an aperitif and a drink in the middle of the tour was a great idea and it was good to get a chance to talk to francesco. I wish we could have got a chance to do the other tour but unfortunately we didn't! I would highly recommend anyone to do this tour whilst in Verona. Thank you Francesco!

This was our first private guided tour as a family as we usually visit places in a more informal way. We did the cangrande murder mystery and it was good fun. What I liked the most though was getting an overview of several areas of central Verona, including some places that are a bit more out of the way. Our guide had many interesting things to say about the history of Verona and was very friendly in answering our many questions. The aperitivo stop was very appreciated too.

My husband and I did the Vicenza murder mystery with our 5yr old son. We had a great time meeting new people and learning about the murder of Andrea Palladio and some history of Vicenza. I would highly recommend this tour, especially for newcomers to this city. It was to advanced for our young son but there were other teenagers who really enjoyed it. Be ready to walk the city for a few hours and enjoy a good amount of food and spritz after. My only suggestion for this tour would be to have smaller groups of two or three people so everyone can see and work with the clues. Thank you Play City. Oh and the tour guides were wonderdul!!

We did the Shadow of Palladio murder mystery and really enjoyed it. A few of us went and were out in a group with a few more people, so it was a nice way to meet with others. Walking through the city, we had to solve the mystery of who killed Andrea Palladio. The puzzles weren't that difficult, but it gave a fun and creative focus as you learned information about Palladio and Vicenza. Recommended for people new to the city or for those who have lived here for years as it is information and connections that you wouldn't already know. Be prepared to walk for about 3 hours outside. Drinks and quite a bit of food were included at the end. There is no time for stopping along the way. The time went by too quickly. The material is acceptable for little kids, but I don't think they would find the day interesting, though the one little boy in the group did excellent and didn't complain at all.

Our family (mom, dad and two teenage daughters) spent a couple of hours of our two day visit to Verona-in-love by solving the mystery of Cangrande´s murder. That turned out to be one of the most enjoyable and interesting history lessons any of us ever had experienced. The girls comments were “How clever! He (Francesco, our guide) made us solve a mystery puzzle while giving us a tour of the town” “I wish all history were taught like this! It would be much more fun and one would remember everything much easier.” Francesco gave the tour in English (including all the clever and nicely crafted clues) and even if that is not our mother tongue it was not even difficult for the 13 year old to understand everything. The clues and the stories were quite ghastly sometimes and the whole experience was very entertaining. Since it was a private tour for our family we grown-ups took the opportunity to ask about different other things we passed on the way and Francesco soon turned out to be a great source of knowledge (and a very nice person). Included in the price was also an “apertivo” that turned out to be something to drink and a large plate with “appetizers” that was plenty for us to share and worked very well as lunch. Next time we are in Verona we will take the Romeo & Juliet tour or some other tour Play the City is giving.

Great tour the guide was very knowledgeable and nice with the kids. There much more to story than what you read in the novels and this tour shows you those missing details.
