Whilst scaffolding was up around the building inside was clear and accessible. The art and the history were stunning with haunting organ music in the background beautiful icons superb architecture.
Well worth a visit. The cathedral has been in existence since approx 1500 a.d. and is steeped in history. I was fascinated by the bemused faces of the marble lions guarding the steps to the altar. The organist was practising while we were there and it added to the Gothic atmosphere.
the organist was practising when we went in - so atmospheric and peaceful and authentic, even in the heart of the tourist district of the old town.
