What a wonderful find! My husband and I noticed a sign for the International Puppet Museum and decided to give it a try. It was a delight. There really are puppets from all over the world--Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam, the U.S., and yes, Italy. The museum is a nice mix of old world (puppets that are up close and personal from...

Of all the sites in Sicily, the Greek Theaters in Siracusa and Taormina, the views from Taormina, Monreale in Palermo, the Roman ruins, the beaches, the hill towns, each one of the Musei dei Arceologico in each of the big towns, this was easily the (second most) fun. It's lovely to see this local custom being shown not just as a museum piece but 'live' at this venue. The detail on the marionettes and their history is most interesting, but if you don't speak Italian, you will struggle to appreciate this as their is very little information available in English. It is particularly interesting to see that the...

A magic atmosphere where we discovered the incredible Sicilian puppet tradition of Opera dei pupi and other puppet traditions that the Association that founded the museum has being studying since its foundation. I think it's a great experience to know better Sicily and its complex culture.
