The Triumph of Death fresco is a masterwork by an almost invisible artist - s/he is I believe, otherwise unknown. It's not in great shape - there is damage along some important lines, but that which is there is very good indeed. While I was standing in front of the Triumph of Death of Abatellis Palace in Palermo and I felt a sense of peace emerging as if the great fresco encompassed a mysterious beneficent miracle. It was something rather mysterious. One of the most interesting experiences I had in Palermo.
