reading the reviews before visiting syracuse we were warned about the layout of the museum before entering it. The collection is one of its kind, there is so much pottery etc. on display here they probably could have filled a museum double its size. The building is terrible and the exhibits are arranged in a way that is impossible to penetrate. Perhaps the authorities were trying to recreate the feel of the Labyrinth in Crete. In the last zone. Unless you are interested, I would skip the paleolithic remains and head straight for zones C and D (the statues are in D and the best thing about the museum (in my opinion). More
