We took "Etna Round" tour, using a discount when booking in advance through SAT web site. We did not have much time in Taormina, and we definitely wanted to see Etna, and tour Siracusa. I completely agree with MalcH about the Agrigento/Piazza Armerina and Panarea/Stromboli tours. Both excellent and worth the money for the hassle-free experience. Agrigento is stunning and the mosaics at the Villa Romano del Casale fascinating. Stromboli erupting was the highlight. We also went to Siracusa, which was slightly disappointing as explained below. We used SAT Scicilain Airbus Tours. Very impressed with the organisation. coach and tour guides. They do have a website, sorry cant paste link at moment, and if you book in advance you get 10% off. We have made a trip with SAT from Taormina to Palermo. First thing, the motorways cafés in which the bus stopped were really bad (I had to throw away a brioche because it tasted really awful).
