There is room after room of historic paintings. Buy your tickets before you go and check for the days they are closed. More

This is a great art gallery, not just for the art and sculptures but also for the building itself. The main exhibits are on the second floor of the gallery but there is a smaller gallery on the first floor. Be warned - you cannot exit the museum from this gallery and have to go back up to the main... More

I'm not much of a religious art afficionado... nor am I an art lover... I could appreciate the art and it's significance. And I'm glad I went... but it was boring for me. I was ready to leave after 30 minutes but stuck it out and went through all the rooms and listened to the audio guide. I did enjoy... More

Incredible as everyone says. But, make SURE to get reservations in advance online, and also bring your own audioguide or buy one there. It'd be hard to understand the significance of the art without this. Also, be ready for crowds, both inside and outside. More

I couldn't wait to go to this art museum because the last time I was in Florence it was closed due to a strike or something. Of course, I wanted to see "The Birth of Venus", but all the tour groups jamming up the space hardly made it worthwhile. After two rooms of religious art it all starts to look... More

You have to like medieval art with religious themes. We didn't have enough of an appreciation. The statue galleries are enormous and it was enjoyable walking through and seeing the views from the windows. More

We love this "Museo" and could have stayed for at least 2 more hours. We went on our own and got the audio tours for 6 euro(make sure they put in the right language code) We had a Florence card and went to the short reservation line. A must here and at The David. Give yourself time to do the... More

There is a 3hours queue for those who hasn't bought tickets in advance, 30minutes queue for those who did. We actually wer lucky, activists of a foundation (to preserve the art of Italy) were selling pre-purchased tickets in the 3hrs long queue - for 5 euros extra (which is the membership fee of the foundation). Like this we had to... More
