If you want to see pretty flowers then this is NOT the place. It's nice, but more like a park. Lots of manicured green stuff, fountains, and statues. The hike to the top is quite steep. Unfortunately the greenhouse area and some smaller garden rooms were closed for renovation. We got a map, but it didn't really have any information... more

Boboli Gardens was the only disappointment of our 15 day trip to Italy; a waste of time and money (10,00 euros each). There were lots of stairs/hills and what little flowers they had were past their best. The ponds were full of green slime. Yes the view is lovely but you can get wonderful views from Fiosole, S. Miniato Al... more

Boboli Gardens is way over-priced (at 10 Euros apiece), and not worth spending valuable vacation time on. With so much free or much less expensive beauty in Florence (and even more in Venice), why squander your time here. We did a ton of walking and climbing steps in Italy, and none was as unfruitful as our trek to Boboli Gardens.... more

We visited the Boboli Gardens in the morning, in order to avoid the hot July sun. I'm not much of a gardener but must say I found Boboli somewhat disappointing. You pay the entrance fee and from there on in its pretty much up to you to find your way! The gardens are entered via a large courtyard with steps... more

Once again I'm puzzled by some of the negative reviews here. This is a beautiful place to spend a day, wandering around the Medici family's gardens. They are spectacular with hundreds of sculptures and fountains. The views of Florence from across the Arno are terrific. It is breezy, cool, and uncrowded. If i had only one day to spend in... more

It was expensive. There is no map, guide or guidance. The gardens are run down. The fountains not working and in need of a cleaning. The views are nice, but not worth the money. We were there in April and maybe later in the spring season it's a better stop, but don't go in April, you will be disappointed. We... more

We were in Florence in April 2008 and went to the Boboli Gardens expecting to see, well.....gardens. The only flowers were a few tulips at the entrance, other than that there were trees, hedges, and some sculptures. We had been in the country a few days before and saw a number of plants in bloom, and were hoping to see... more

I saw the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens on my last day in Florence. I was tired of seeing churches and museums at this point but everyone said this was a "must see." I agree with the other reviewers. They take your 10 euros pretty quick and offer no map. In fact, it's 10 euros to do some of the... more

I love gardens and it was a nice change after all of the indoor stuff we were doing. It was 10 euros (not 6), and we did not see any maps provided. It is alot of walking and if you are not in reasonable shape, it might not be worth it because there is a significant amount of climbing uphill.... more

I have to agree with the last reviewer. We were just there in April and though it was nice to see, we didn't have enough time to do it. So we rushed through in about an hour and a half. At the entrance, they just take your money. No map, no directions, no guidance. This place must have been really... more
