An historic building, with some very small exhibits. Of course almost everything is for sale, but prices are not clear. You may pick up and handle products, but no help is offered at all. Perhaps this is due to the number of tourists. I was expecting an experience along the lines of something like Fragonard, but this atmosphere is far... more

This hidden gallery was once part of the cloister of the church. Fragrance and aromas welcome you into a baroque gallery and museum where the sometime intimidating staff assist with preferences for tonics, rose water and soaps. Its a quiet and fabulous oasis from the chaos of Firenze but expect to pluck down major moolah for their products but their... more

I loved this place. Visited Florence Oct 08 and had to make a stop. Products are fabulous. Unfortunately, the staff is a little snooty and not very helpful so it helps if you know what you are going to get. more

Interesting history, but most of the products are filled with preservatives...and expensive...one bar of soap was 9 Euros. more

This can be a very intimidating place. There is such a sense of history, and so much to see...and smell! The sales staff is knowledgeable and polite, but I got the impression that they quickly sort out the browsers from the buyers and give their attention accordingly, so you can't be shy about asking questions and prices. And if you... more

The history and architecture of this shop makes it like a museum. Free admission, and fabulous products, but beware, they are expensive. (3 bars of soap were $41, for example). No price tags on anything, so you have to ask-always makes me feel uncomfortable, and I did not find the shop assistants particularly friendly or helpful. But there was no charge... more

This July will be my 12th anual visit, and I still find new places to visit.. You can spend many happy hours in The Pharmacy - it is like an Aladdin's Cave. I am quite lucky because my son lives and works in Verona, so he can go for the day, and replenish my stock. The room fragrances and the... more

I fell in love with the Pomegranate Bath Salts when one of my roomates boyfriends returned from Florence with the salts as a gift. I smelled this wonderful scent wafting from the bathroom one evening and have been hooked ever since. I sought out a place to buy them online but thought I would love one day to actually go... more

This is a "must" stop for me every time I visit Florence. The shop is a little dark as your enter but the intriguing scents of old world charm carry you up the steps to a beautiful counter littered with curious bottles of lovely botantical scents of Rose, Iris and gardinas and more, botttles of lotions that offer the creamiest... more

This place is a must-do/must-see. I have been wearing their stuff for many years.. it's timeless, incredible and this is something special. No trip to Europe is complete (within this region) without visiting SMN's Pharmacy. From Potpourri to Nostalgia, among other scents.. this place is pure class. You could spend a lot of money visiting this place, so be forewarned.... more
