Just because of the fact that it sits at the corner of a famous Piazza (Piazza della Repubblica), I would never eat a substantial meal here. i have been to florence about 20 times and the best seafood risotto is at cafe gillis...i love sitting out side the piazza is beautiful.. ask for alessandro he is the best waiter he gives the best service and he is sooooo handsome!!!! more

The best advice to all travellers is to eat and drink the local cuisine. If the speciality of the house is wine or beer (whatever region you are in) - then drink wine or beer as it is much more reasonably priced -- like half the price of the coca-cola-- and you can have twice as much!!
