If you have only a limited time in Firenze, or have been before and already visited the main tourist attractions, this collection of Medici 'collectibles' and gifts is incredible. There are 2 tickets for the Pitti Palace-1 which gets you into the palace apartments and galleries, and one which gets you into the Boboli Gardens, The Treasury, Porcelain Museum and... more

Wall to wall priceless art and architecture here. We didn't even try to get into the Uffizi, and instead went to the Pitti Palace. It was a palace crammed to the rafters with painting and sculpture. It was a sweltering late August day, and the museum was like a sauna...there was no climate control, and all the upper floor windows... more

We visited to see the gardens. They are not well-tended and in some cases not tended at all--a total waste of time. It is just so sad to see how they are allowing something that was probably once magnificent to wither. more

We ventured to enter the Pitti Gardens and Museum on a recent trip to Florence. There were two ticket options which for either 10 euros or 12 euros got you a view of about one half or the other of the rooms at the museum and the gradens. There was no ticket option which allowed you to see everything. At... more

Toured in November, 2007. Very large palace and large attached garden. Lots and lots of art inside. Also has a costume museum as well. I didn't like that there were separate tickets for the gallery and garden. I guess they do that because a lot of people just want to tour the Gallery but I found it confusing and a... more

We have just come back from visiting Florence and thought we would avoid the Uffizi queues and visit the Pitti Palace instead. We were disappointed, there was not a combined ticket for the museum and gardens and would have to pay twice to do both. We chose the museum, whilst there was a lot to see the sculptures were dirty... more

I have been to the royal palaces in both Paris and in Vienna and felt that this was by far the best of the three to see. The addmission was divided between two parts and we took the tour of the palace general areas and the gardens but did not take the tour of the palace art. We should have... more

We visited Florence June 21-24, 2005. Pitti Palace is located just across the Ponte Vecchio on the south side of the Arno River. Impressive structure from the outside. However, disappointed with the interior. This was partially due to limited access. Boboli Gardens is located directly behind the Palace. Very nice gardens. However, since the temperature at the end of June... more

I lived across the street from the Pittie Palace for four wonderful months and spent many hours in the Galleria Pallatina. This gallery is a must for anyone interested in art and visiting Florence, and is a great haven for those sick of the lines at the Uffizzi. The collection is wonderful, maybe the best of Andrea del Sarto in... more
