The synagogue has been restored - we prayed there friday night in Febuary 2007 - it was beautiful. Best to stay at Hotel Arizona near by and eat Friday night and Shabbat meals with Chabad also right around the corner. This is one Synagogue saved from destruction that should not be missed during your visit to Florence. more

Be prepared for tight security measures upon entering this magnificant synagogue. Unfortunately, restoration to the exterior dome as well as the second story of the interior limited the full appreciation of this jewel. Gift shop was surprisingly disappointed. more
