Yes, you have to climb 414 steps in order to see the magnificent view of Firenze from top of the Campanile. Also had the chance to be in the tower when the bells began to toll- More

If you fancy seeing the views over Florence then climb up inside this tower. It is almost as high as the Duomo but it is a much easier walk and there are resting places. More

We arrived late to Florence late on a Sunday afternoon. We weren't expecting anything to be open, but saw a small line at the Bell Tower. On a whim we jumped in line. It is a big climb (over 400 steps), but there are different levels where you can stop and rest. The view from the top is just as... More

The exterior is amazing, as is the designer, Giotto. An easier alternative to climbing the dome in the Duomo. More

The unfit can take this in stages. During our visit we got the same stunning views as the adjacent Duomo without the long queues. More

I would recommend doing the bell tower over the dome for several reasons. Firstly, there is basically no wait at any time of the day. There are two different stopping points on the way up for some good perspective pics and some rest. You get the same great views as the dome, but you also get the great view of... More

Think it's the most beauutiful bell tower in Italy, the facade is fantastic. The view from the top must be worth seeing. More

This is a beautiful tower that predates the completion of the adjacent Duomo by a century. The outside is varied coloured marble and intricate carving. Inside, 400+ steps take you to the top and a great view of Florence. It was one of the highlights of our time in Florence. More

Great climb for kids - each level was a new secret passage to find. Great view of the duomo as well. More

One of the most beautiful doors I have seen. Also love the multi-colored marble used on the exterior walls. More
