We were here on a lovely sunny day in early May. The ruins are simply breathtaking - and in great shape after 2000 years. We would recommend that an audio tour is offered, as clearly there is a great deal to learn about the place. The current explanatory panels are useful, but an even better experience could occur if more... More

We went to a free orchestra which occurs every May (I think). It is a nice area and Fiesole is also great to walk around. We actually walked back to Florence (I don't recommend walking to Fiesole though). The walk took 2 hours at a slow pace going all downhill. More

I would like to endorse a previous comment on John P.  He made our visit a pleasure  by sharing his love and knowledge of Etruscans and Etruscan Art with us.  My friend has a deep  interest and knowledge of them, I tagged along. Yet at the end of the visit I was fascinated by the story of the Etruscan and... More

The grounds are not well presented. The museum is only in Italian. It is a collection rather than an interface with the public. You can do better if your time is limited. More

Although I believe the place is seldom crowded, I would advise getting to Fiesole early (take the handy no7 bus from San Marco in Florence) and then buying the full ticket which gives access to the grounds containing the amphitheatre, the roman baths and the Etruscan ruins, as well as the Etruscan museum within and the Brandini museum outside. Take... More

My husband and I visited the Teatro Romano e Museo Civico on our first day in Fiesole, before had investigated all there was to do. We easily spent two hours in the museum, and I definitely wanted to go back. I'm surprised by the review who wrote that the cost of entry was not worth it, and I wonder whether... More
