The garden an house here are lovely, although I would say that if you are not interested in the house you can get a good view of the gardens from the walls.
We went early and visited the gardens only sitting on a bench by the entrance to the cafe and toilet.Lovely , hot sunshine and the friendly girl in the admissions kiosk allowed me to go and buy some drinks and didn`t even charge me to go back in. Spent 3 hours there reading and occasionally hearing the shouts from the... More
Palazzo Pfanner is a wonderful example of a type and style of architecture in Lucca. The casa is beautiful and the gardens superb. I've long admired it from the walls of Lucca and was really interesting to see it in toto. I plan to take or advise any visitors there.
Based on recommendation of friends we went to the gardens here. They were lovely and picturesque but not extensive. We say a perfectly good view of these gardens from our bikes on the wall. Otherwise, unless I wanted a break in the shade in a nice italian garden, I would not pay the price of admission
We spotted Palazzo Pfanner from the walls of Lucca and determined to visit the gardens, which looked lovely from the walls. And lovely they are, small and perfectly formed, with great vistas everywhere you look within the garden. The Pfanners and those who lived there before them will have enjoyed everything about this garden, sitting in it, wandering about, listening... More
Definitely worth a visit whilst in Lucca. The original owner, Mr Pfanner was an Austrian brewer & set up the first brewery in Lucca. His son became a very successful & popular surgeon. The rooms open to the public display his medical equipment & a mock-up of how the kitchen would have looked. The garden is small but beautiful with... More
We had done our homework on this before coming to Lucca & some reviews were not encouraging but we were not disappointed it was a nice place to relax & enjoy. What more could you want on a nice sunny day but to enjoy this peaceful environment. It is worthy of a visit if you enjoy gardens.
When walking around the walls of Lucca we spotted these beautiful gardens and searched until we found them. We were not disappointed! Calm and peaceful during our morning visit we had the gardens to ourselves with addition of another couple who were staying in an adjacent apartment. Lovely water features and well kept areas lovingly maintained by a busy gardener.... More
This is an old nobleman's house, with a gorgeous garden and neat furnishings, etc. We happened upon a fashion fair as well which was lovely in the setting. Well worth seeing
Though relatively small this Palazzo and gardens are an enjoyable place to visit. The gardens are very well maintained making this a lovely place to relax. The actual Palazzo only has a few rooms open to visitors but they are certainly of interest although some of the decor shows signs of having deteriorated over the centuries. The information booklet given... More
