The Guinigi Tower -- that's the one with the trees on top -- is over 40 meters high. The climb is relatively easy. The views are spectacular, because Lucca itself is a beautiful city. More

Great view over the city but watch you don't bang your head on one of the trees as it gets a bit crowded up there! More

230 steps to the top (but, as one wag said, it only feels lke 220) it is a bit of a climb but getting up to the rooftop "garden" it toally worth it and you get to see all the other towers in teh city. Magical. More

Don't miss this! It's a great place to view all of Lucca and it is very unusual to be on a roof with huge trees! More

Our first day in Lucca it rained heavily and non stop. We decided to climb this tower nevertheless. It was great exercise, but not much of a view on a rainy, somewhat foggy day. I would love to try again when it is sunny. The good thing was, we had it all to ourselves! More

We enjoyed climbing the almost 200 steps to the top for a very interesting look at the city. More

I think that you need to be feeling strong before attempting the climb. However, it is worth the effort for the view over the old tiled rooftops. More

It was raining in Lucca and this was an enjoyable way to kill half an hour. Perhaps 3Euros would have been more reasonable price wise. There is a very narrow stair case at the top. Not a lot of manouevring room when you are up there. The rain had kept the majority of tourists away and so not too bad... More
