I visited Pisa as an architecture student in 2001. The base of the tower was fenced off so that you could not get anywhere close & I believe there was some sort of work underway. Unless you can now walk up to the base I do not think the trip is worthwhile. more

Wonderful. The baptistry, the leaning tower, the cathedral. The "Square of Miracles" is one of the most beautiful squares I have ever seen. But there is not much else to visit in Pisa. more

The Piazza is a wondeful heritage site. You might have to wait in queue for a while to get in , but believe me, it is totally worth it. more

A very interesting and worthwhile site to visit. The Tower, Baptistry, Cathedral and Museums were well worth a visit. Details of the restoration work which are displayed in the ticket purchase centre were fascinating, showing how difficult the task is. The grassy areas outside also make it a pleasant place for resting in the sun after climbing up the stairs... more

We went to the Piazza del Duomo in July 2009. It was part of an organised trip from our cruise ship and we only had an hour or so there which just wasn't enough. An hour is barely enough to marvel at the Leaning Tower and take photographs of it. You need at least half a day if you want... more
