It was nice to visit early in May, before the main tourist season. A thing which spoilt the place was all the souvenir stalls around the periphery of the grass area. More

the white façade, the perfect proportions, the setting in this almost unreal Piazza dei Miracoli, surrounded by the leaning Tower and by the Battistero More

So beautiful, so much to see and understand. Really need a guide or guidebook to get the most out of it. My personal favourite bits were the doors. More

The cathedral was quite impressive but access was limited to a small area just inside the main door so we were not able to wander around. I don't know if it is always like this or we just arrived at a bad time. More

It is a church, an imposing white building dating from 1064, with five naves and a transept with three naves. It contains artwork by Giambologna, Della Robbia and other major artists. When you visit Pisa, you will be struck by the beauty of the piazza when you enter through the old walls. The tower is significantly leaning, but you can still climb to the top of it.
