A beautiful red stone building in the middle of the market center - sweet little animals carved on the walls, and the paintings on the inside of it's courtyard are amazing. Hard taking pictures on a cloudy day but when the sun comes out, that building glows! Nice to see the old building mixed in with the new shops and...

Built with the red sand stone typical for the area and quarried not far away, this building has been renovated to present itself in pristine condition. The newer additions, such as for instance the tower, are fully ‘compatible’ with the original construction and form a homogeneous entity. Standing on market square and looking at it, one can’t but marvel at...

Basel is a beautiful city and the Rathaus is something you have to see when you're there. There's not a whole lot to do, but it's beautiful to see. You can walk around and take pictures of it without spending a cent, so that's a plus. It's right downtown and you can shop around at the market across the street....
