When in Bern I'd recommend a nice relaxing stroll along the river, and when doing so take a break to take in the bears. Its nothing special but the area is quite nice and makes for a good break in your day. More

As a free sight, the bears are worth your time. Take a bus or add this at the end of your stroll through the old city. The bears live and play in comfortable enclosures comparable to most professional zoos and they are the city mascot. More

Bernese love their bears! This is a habitat full of happy growlers, and you can often see them playing, wrestling, and swimming in their pools. The modern and well-designed park allows you to view the bears both from above and below, and the walk along the Aare River is quite pretty. Definitely worth a visit. More

This stop on our trip was free, which is a plus! And, we got to see the bears (all 4) very active. We spent 45 minutes just watching and asking questions of the staff of volunteers. Don't miss this! More

We went twice in 24 hours while in Bern, it was so nice to see them lumbering along and searching the trees for bugs (?) The bears are very exposed and dont seem to have anywhere to hide from prying humans. The enclosure is also very small. I felt sorry for the bears. More
