CERN has recently brought into service the world’s most powerful accelerator, the LHC (Large Hadron Collider), which will provide new insights into the Universe and how it evolved. The entire Universe is made up of particles. But where do they come from? What laws govern their behaviour? The purpose of the "Universe of particles" exhibition is for visitors to confront the great questions of contemporary physics : a journey to the Big Bang. « less

Easy access via tram from Geneve a great place to visit if you are interested in physics and the workings of the universe. It is an amazing look at the facilities not the collider itself. We were guided by a grad student, he gave us an in depth tour and was able to answer in depth technical questions. Just walking... More

We went because we thought it would be cool to learn a bit more about such a break through in science. We were wrong. The first exhibit, Microcosm, was so much reading and listening but not suited to the lamen. I understand that it's some pretty heavy stuff but it just wasn't as interactive as I thought it'd be. The... More

Open to the public for visits all year round (except Xmas!) with a seriously cool new exhibit in the Globe, tours of various experiments bookable for individuals or groups, even some artwork on the walls of ATLAS visible from the road. Meet not so mad scientists at the forefront of particle physics research More

One can take a tour or 'just' visit the displays. But one should not miss the opportunity to visit this world famous science nuclear lab and facility, with a scientist as a tour-guide who makes the intricate scientific process easy to understand. The immensity of the machines versus the minuscule particles that are being investigated stand in grand contrast and... More

CERN is an inspirational organization even for non-scientists like us. The exhibits are easy to understand, and fun for visitors of all ages. Chase the elusive Higgs boson--can you find it? More

The CERN is not really a tourist destination. We had the guided tour. It was interesting from a scientific standpoint, but all the information is available online. There is really nothing to see at CERN; you cannot go into the super collider. Read about it and skip the tour, unless you are a future physicist. More

Visiting CERN was a fantastic experience! Out tour guide was actually completing her internship there and therefore, she knew quite a lot about the experiments being carried out in the different labs and about Physics in gral. I loved the fact that the group was quite mixed with people from all over the world, sharing passionate thoughts about scientific sciences.... More
