This is a pretty cathedral located in the old town near to lots of other attractions. I would not go out of my way to visit unless you enjoy history, but if you are in the area it would be a shame not to drop by. It can be surprisingly difficult to find when walking, as you keep seeing it... more

Anyone with a passing interest in history would enjoy a visit here, if only to see Calvin's Chair where Jean Calvin (allegedly)preached his sermons from. This attraction dovetails nicely with a visit to the Reformation Wall nearby. The climb to the tower is a must, but it is not for claustrophobics. The cathedral, along with the entire old part of the city is on a hill in central Geneva. The cathedral is no greater or more beautiful than most cathedrals you'd find elsewhere in Europe, but it's cool (for me anyway) to stand where John Calvin stood and imagine the debates that were held there.
