Our little boy, who is 5yo, of course rates this experience as his number one while we were in Switzerland. The Lucerne Museum of Tansportation was a very interesting and enjoyable afternoon activity. At first I was wondering how interesting it might be, but even for an active Mom and older daughter (age 19), we found lots to do and saw lots of fun activities for younger kids, age 5 or 6 up through teenagers. Parents will enjoy it, too!... more
If, like me, you have a specialist interest in transport you will love this museum. A tip, go early. It is quite expensive to get into, but because its really a number of museums it takes all day to see. The halls include: Railways - very good, one of the best railway museums I have been to. We went to the Transport Museum two years ago and liked it a lot. It was pretty busy and there were loads of kids running around and generally getting in the way, but it would be great for families as it's a very child friendly museum. Its a short, easy bus ride from Luzern up the side of the lake.... more
