It was easy to walk to old town from the main train station in about 10mins. It has interesting alley where there are shops and cafes. Outdoor weather was like air-con which makes it comfortable to walk around and stopping to take photos. More

It is so picturesque. I had been there twice before on fleeting visits with coach tours en route to Italy. This time I went specifically to spend more time there and getting to know and appreciate Lucerne more. Lots to do and see. More

To be honest there are odd buildings and tiny streets, but much of the old town has been redeveloped with modern high rise imitations. It's OK to wander around but there are many better cities than this ones Old Town. More

Very pretty, but full of high end shopping. Leave the shopping to the other tourists, head up a few blocks, and stroll through the towers and gardens! You will need comfy shoes! More

On the surface the old town appeared quaint and "historical" and did have a certain charm . However, after walking through it for a while it did tend to resemble other similar places where commercial interests had intruded to the detriment of the historical authenticity. More

Old town is one of the most beautiful artistic small villages I have ever visited in Europe. The amount of buildings arom the 16th century which are mostly hotels now are amazing. I highly recommend you visit this friendly village, I want to go back already. More

An absoletuely beautiful place to visit. Lots of great places to eat, drink and shop. Several wonderful churches to visit too. People here seem very happy and helpful. Right on Lake Lucerne with lots of tour and dining boats. Seems very safe. This is the place to go in Switzerland. More
