As this is ma favorite I take the cogwheel-railway from the Arth-Goldau railway station (just +/- 30 minutes from Lucerne). The blue train starts from the bridge over the railway station. On the way up you have wunderful views on lake Lauerz and lake Zug. If you can, sit on the right side of the train if you would like... more

We visited Mount Rigi in August 2008. The way to get there is either by train from Lucerne to Arth Goldau or by a ship from Lucerne to Vitznau or Weggis.
