We had planned to take the Glacier Express on our last day in Switzerland and unfortunately the seats were all sold out. We decided to go visit Lucerne last minute and took the train to top of Rigi. I am so glad we did that because the view was just spectacular! It was a very beautiful ride going to the... More

We visited Mt Rigi, Mt Pilatus, Mt Titlis and Jungfraujoch. We found Mt Rigi the most close to heart. We hiked down from the top to midway. The scenery was breath taking! If we stayed in Lucerne, we would definately do this at least once a month! The path from the top of the mountain to the base of the... More

The Pickwick Hotel Management recommended this over the trip to Pilatus. With Pilatus, I believe, one is restricted to go with the train. With Mt Rigi, you can go up by train, walk down a while (if you so wish) and catch the cable car back down. It was great. The locals prefer it! More

Breathtaking views and not touristy at all.We... More

We just got back from a visit to Lucerne and we did the Mt. Rigi trip while we were there. Our hotel concierge set it up for us. Very beautiful mountain and views. If you can only do a few things while you're staying in Lucerne I would suggest this tour. I do have to say that we had a... More

This is where the Swiss go. They leave the Jungfrau to the tourists. You can take the cog rail from Arth-Goldau or the ship from Lucerne to Vitznau and the train up the other side. Or, up one way and down the other - beautiful. You can see many of the alps from the top. This is a really easy... More
