The Gornergrat Bahn is a very nice experience to take in Zermatt. This little train will bring you in 40 minutes to the top of the Gornergrat Mountain. More

Living in Southern California, I know very well what Disneyland is and looks like. Having lived many years in Europe and travelled extensively there, I know what Europe is and looks like. I never thought the day would come when I would be comparing the real Matterhorn to the Disneyland version. I was in Zermatt and rode up the Gornergrat... More

The round trip price to Gornergrat is extremely expensive. If you have been travelling or live in Switzerland and have the half price card it is very affordable. The views are amazing on a clear day, but not worth the price tag otherwise. If you need to stay on a budget, buy the one way ticket to Riffelalp. You will... More

We took the cog train to Gornergrat, dropping off hikers along the way. It was a warm, clear day and we could see all of the surrounding mountains. The waiters at the outdoor restaurant were very efficient and able to handle the influx of tourists. Staying there might prove to be a hassle, with the distance from town, so we... More

If the skies are clear, it's great. If the clouds settle in, you'll be disappointed. More

Going up 5,000 feet from Zermatt , to 10.000 feet in about 40 minutes through snow covered montain slopes is just awe inspiring and exhilarating. Views of gorges, ski runs, and snow covered "Christmas trees" were unforgettable. More

Gornergrat train climbs almost 1500m to 3,089 m above sea level. The Gornergrat is a ridge overlooking the Gorner Glacier to the south and amazing view of more than 20 four thousand meters peaks. A must to visit if you stay in Zermatt! Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway – tunliweb.no More
