Art is often cited to be an expression of one's emotions. This is never so swell demonstrated as at Art Brute museum in Lausanne. An experience not to be missed. The collections include creations by interned patients. An intensity of expression is present throughout. Even though I live in Lausanne I visit regularly. More

Among the most extraordinary, at the same time upsetting and revelatory, museums I have ever set foot in is the Collection de l'Art Brut, in Lausanne, a museum of so-called "outsider art" founded by the painter Jean Dubuffet. The term "outsider art" loosely comprises the art of the mad, the unschooled and the unlikely. Here the dazzling paintings of the... More

It is a museum on special people creating art (they've never been to art school and have sometimes psychiatric diseases). Incredible... Have a look at the website before... More

Arguably the best museum in Lausanne, it is located in a beautiful and somehow sinister 18th century house (actually a château) in Beaulieu. The museum contains both a permanent collection and temporary expositions of art from outsiders of all kind. Some of the works are just impressive. It feels like entering a different world. Absolutely worth it. Free entrance on... More

Some art works are really interesting, but this is no MOMA. Definitely one of a kind and worth an hour to satisfy a bit of curiosity. It's 10-15 minuate walk from the closest Metro subway station. More

The Collection de l'Art Brut describes itself as a museum hosting works made by self-taught artists suffering from psychiatric troubles, mental disabilities as well as those who are incarcerated for a variety of offenses. Though this might sound ominous, do not let this information deter you from visiting this great museum. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting this museum as the artworks... More

Extraordinary museum. People say it is a must see. I resisted. I was wrong - it is wonderful, and I have now visited several times. Just go! More

This is an interesting museum of artworks by very prolific artists with mental illnesses. Some of it strange, some of it incredibly beautiful. More
