The cast, conductor and orchestra have a high level.The ensemble and guest include Kaufmann, Bartoli, Fleming, Kasarova... Most productions are very old-fashioned, conservative and lame - there are exceptions, e.g. productions by Kusej. For really innovative, avant-garde staging the Theatre of Basel is a much more interesting and better place. more
