Wonderful small trip with a small train, starting from Central. It takes 2 minutes to the ETH (école polytechnique) and there you will find a marvellous terrace to watch the old-town of Zurich, the lake, lying beneath. Nearby is the University of Zurich and behind the ETH is the main hospital situated. More

It's good if you need to go and see the University. Otherwise, I don't see the big deal of making it a scenic attraction, it's just a cable car...but I know some kids really love it. There's a free science (animal) museum in the ETH or University (forgot which one) and the kids could spend quite a bit of time... More

It is a new experience if you've never been on anything similar . It is generally packed with University students which made us feel young . Took us to the Zurich University from where we got a good view of Zurich . More

Didn't travel on it, alas, but love the way the track and train emerge from the back of a normal urban 'house'! Did at least see it running. Brilliant! More

This train was built by the "Polytechnikum" (today ETH Zürich) for their students. It would have been asked too much of the most intelligent young men Switzerland had back then, to walk up the hill for about 5 minutes. Today a ride with this nice red train is highli recommendable for tourists: it's cheap (even for free, if you have... More

The ride on this small, automated hill train lasts only 30 seconds or so but is a must for the experience is offers and the views it delivers. This little train leads up to the university areas of the city, which alone are worth visiting for their stunning architecture. In addition to that, only a short walk away from the... More

It really belongs to Zurich and connects Centra with the University! It's really short but very sweet! also the upper station is nicely made with the colorful glass (in my opinion). More

The tramway is the best and fastest way to get up to ETH. The ETH terrasse gives an outstanding view over downtown Zurich, the lake and mount Uetliberg. This is a must do if you are visitin Zurich. The tramway is a very old but neet smal train, it is very steep and nice to have such an oldtimer experience... More
