The Hoge Veluwe is a wide national park, and this is what you learn from general information sources. This however can't quite prepare you for the great experience of beautiful, quiet vastness of the area: you'd better set at least a couple days apart to visit as it's actually a giant park with many different landscapes. There are some restaurants... More

The biggest conservation area in the country so far. Biking instead of driving is much more a healthy attitude while in De Hoge Veluwe. Have fun enjoy the sun. A group tour is more enjoyable. Bring your lunch and take a break anywhere with the white bike or bring your own. More

Excellent biking opportunities, beautiful nature; the art museum is worth seeing even if you are a sceptical art appreciator :) My advice is to rent a bike in a town outside the park (7 euro per day), which would be more convenient than the famous free white bikes (especially if you are tall). A great place for couples, groups, dogs,... More

We went to both the Kroller-Muller Museum, which is in the park, and the park itself. It's a large park with several driving routes, bike trails, and foot trails. The terrain is lovely and has woods, plains, sand dunes, heather, and all kinds of variation. We saw very few people outside the KMM and visitor's center areas. The visitor's center... More

We visited Hoge Veluwe Park as a day trip from Enschede. The park is easy to get to on public transport, and once there we took advantage of the free "White Bikes" - simple, comfy, coaster brakes - that were perfect for cruising around the park on the bike path routes. The scenery is quite varied - some old-growth but... More

No gears - no brakes - the white bikes are a whole new experience for us from the UK used to more amply equipped bikes. But they did the job. We cycled about 25km round the park and enjoyed the peace and lack of cars. The artwork in the Kroller Muller museum is a fascinating mix of ancient (Van Gogh)... More

Having visited here as a teeneager with my family I had fond memories that I wanted to share with my husband and children........and it didnt disappoint. We have not risked the Kroller Muller with the children, but they love the bikes and feeding the fish at the hunting lodge. The first time we went we wondered why everyone was standing... More

A uniquely Dutch experience! The Veluwe has thousands of free, white bicycles with which you can traverse the park. Lovely forest and wild, open areas. A great time of year to go as it was sunny without being too hot to cycle. A pity we didn't spot any of the buck that are supposed to be there, but we enjoyed... More

My husband and I visited this park on a nice blue-sky day in March. While not optimal biking weather we still had a great time. Primarily because of the Kröller-Müller Museum, which was an enjoyable surprise. The collection of artwork was much larger than Rijksmuseum, which seems to be permanently under renovation and only displays a fraction of it's art... More
