I visited this museum as part of a battlefield tour of the Arnhem and Nijmegen area. It is housed in the actual building where Major General Urquhart set up his HQ during Operation Market Garden, the Hartenstein Hotel. The exhibits are well thought out and presented, the "airborne experience" in one of the basement floors in particular. The museum as... More

A well done musuem about the Battle of Arnhem and the story based on the movie "A Bridge too Far". While not a history buff I found the information well presented. The basement actual scale walk through exhibit very moving...gave a slight feel of the horrid reality of this battle. The film at the start offers all you a good... More

This museum set on the site the of such historical significance of WW II was very moving. The tour starts with a 15 min film to remind you just how significant this museum plays in the history of the war.The layout is in 3 sections to give you different views of the war. The museum is "hands on" so you... More

This is a must. The real story behind 'a bridge to far' is depicted in a perfect manner. The museum is located in the house used by the British forces as command centre during their attempt to take the three Arnhem bridges. It was a disaster. Bad intelligence dropped them to far, but nearby a full panzer division. The Polish... More

First, this attraction is in Osterbeek not really Arnhem. This can make getting there a little bit difficult. However, there is a train station a few blocks away and it is easy to walk from there. Admission costs 8 Euro and includes a short film of what you will see. The muesum provides first hand accounts of WWII and especially... More

Tells the story of the 1944 battle very well. Easy to find, free parking, good facilities, good interpretation (in several languages) and excellently presented. A must when visiting Arnhem. More

A well thought out museum and a must do if in Arnhem. Only a 15minute cycle all on cycle paths from Arnhem to Oosterbeek, which is where the museum is located. The airborne experience at the end is very well done and adds a nice touch to the already impressive experience More

Go after visiting the Airborne Cemetery at Oosterbeek - it all means so much more when you have seen what the Battle of Arnhem cost in lives. The park area has many memorials from regiments involved in the battle but the most moving tribute is an engraving on a stone at the entrance to the museum - the Airborne Division... More
