I live close to Arnhem and have visited the museum several times throughout the years. Though the museum is now celebrating it's 100th birthday it still is groing and they keep adding new parts. The park is in open air (hence the name) and best visited with dry wetter. Be sure to have some "Poffertjes", you will not be disappointed.... More

I visited this museum with my family, and it was an amazing experience. It wasn't so much the buildings - even though these were great, or the restaurant (which we thought pricey for what they offered), nor even the chance of traveling in vintage tramways, or the interactive experiences. It was that you could do it all in one place,... More

We live nearby and visit this museum once every three or four years. Every time there is something new to see and do. I have been visiting this museum ever since I was a little kid and I still love it. Beautifully set in acres of woodland park, you can spend hours walking and seeing, smelling, touching and tasting our... More

My children don't know much about the Netherlands and this museum is a good way to show them the farms, windmills, old houses and even the traditional clothes all in one day!. You can eat or drink Dutch food and treats, you can go into everything, see and touch most of it and it is so big!!.. (you even have... More

I went to the open air museum by myself, I had a great time. It's easy to spend 4 or more hours wondering the grounds and enjoying the museum, showing the netherlands as it was many years ago. Earlier in the day there were a lot of field trips, with school age children. So if you want a quiet day,... More

We went there on winter time, so not totally open only sightseeing and take picture of buldings and enviroment. A must visit place if you come to Holland so you can see the real Dutch life style in the past time but make sure you come when they totally open so you can enjoy more and max. More

We visited the Open Air museum as part of an optional tour with Viking River Cruises on April 9, 2012. I knew some details of WWII but never to the extent of the displays I saw there. The total experience was very moving and gave me a continued respect for our fallen warriors. In my humble opinion you cannot leave... More

I like open air museums and I visited several ones around the world and without being chauvinistic I must say that this is the best. Lots of nice buildings can be seen from outside and inside and you will learn a lot about dutch culture. The museum not only shows farmer's houses but also windmills, houses of workers from different... More
