We went especially to the Groninger Museum in Groningen to visit this large exhibition Famille Verte; Chinese Porcelain in Green Enamels, an amazing collection with a beautiful presentation. We really were astonished by the beauty and the splendor of all exquisite objects exhibited. All objects are from the collections of several Dutch museums. To see this amazing collection, please hurry!... More

The museum itself is already a good reason to visit. There are several interesting exhibitions, some temporarily and some more permanent.there is also a nice cafe with good food. More

The Groninger Museum is disappointing all around. Its supposedly 'original' architecture is in reality unimpressive. It appears rather cheesy and somehow cheap. What isn't cheap however, is the 13 Euro you pay to get in -- this is the same price as the famous Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. The Groninger Museum is no Rijksmuseum though; it has a few interesting pieces... More

This museum has had many interesting exhibitions in the past, now on show is the green famille verte chinese porcelain imported from the end of the 17th till the end of the 18th century, including some very rare speciments. For explanations one must look them up the the well documented exhibition catalogue which is for sale. More

Only 50 meters from Central Trainstation, built about 35 years ago, partly built and decorated in Memphis Style, already worth the visit. Exhibitions on history and contemporary art. Check the website for current exhibitions. Azzedine Alaïa (till 06 05) and Studio Job till 04 03 a must see! In Groningen you can really spend the weekend, student oriented.... More

If you enjoy post modernistic art and modern day contemporary art, you shouldn't miss this museum when you are in the region. Be sure to visit every room as well as the little outside exhibition. It is a rare point of view towards life itself. Ask the staff to give you an insight into the architecture of the building and... More

This world famous art museum sits in the water with odd shapes and jaunty angles from the building. Inside is delightful, plenty of space given to the temporary and permanent exhibitions. You can photograph without flash (a rarity in Europe) and even collect pictures you like for later display on your own web page. More
