Unassuming, but holy metal mayhem, Batman... You walk around a corner in the Marshall museum and you are in a giant hangar full of tanks and trucks and planes and cannons and on and on. Even if you don't really find that stuff interesting there's enough variety for anyone. I actually found all the logistics stuff fascinating. Worth the stop.... More

Something for everyone, this is the best ww2 museum I have ever been to. Well laid out and exhibits of a high standard. We were lucky enough that we set aside a big part of the day to go there as the museum is huge and there is a lot to take in. The exhibits are all inside now and... More

If you live(d) in these areas, it's a fantastic place to visit to learn how Nazi Germany was fought in this area. Especially if you have family who can explain more about those times to get a personal perspective. I remember my wife and I got pretty emotional at times. My parents both were kids during the 1940-1945 war period... More

I had read the other reviews on TripAdvisor before deciding to visit this museum. Let me just say - this place was IMPRESSIVE. I have been to quite a few museums around Europe and was shocked at how much this museum held. While most of the information was in Dutch (with German and English sprinkled throughout), there was still a... More

This museum is essentially broken into 2 parts. The first part appears to be newer and has endless amounts of military vehicles, planes and diorama type displays mostly contained in a large aircraft hangar type building. The other half is I assume the older part of the museum as it contained some very dated (1980s style) displays. This museum certainly... More

Absolutely fantastic collection of exhibits. Everything was labelled up in Dutch, German, French and English. Had no idea that this small village had played such an important part of Op Market Garden. Met a wonderful old Dutch Gent who recalled a story from the war of when he lived in Arnhem as a child. The exhibit has so much information... More

This is a world class museum. The collection of military vehicles are amazing. That is just half the half of it. The other half of the museum has items from life in Europe during WWll. I also saw clothing issued at concentration camps, a large copy Mein Kampf , and Nazi uniforms. I would allow at least 3-4 hours for... More

I had travelled from North Yorkshire on what was for me just another history tour, having seen many sites over the years. This time, starting with Laboe, U995 and Seaman Memorial, moving to the rocket sites at Peenemunde, both on the Baltic Sea, then back through Germany calling at Overloon merely as a last stop after a tip off about... The National War and Rememberance Museum in Overloon, The Netherlands is an absolute must for those visiting eastern Holland. The museum is broken into 4 seperate sites, the George C. Marshall museum, the Arsenal, the Dutch Occupation and Liberation Museum, and Liberty Park. Of all the museums we visited on our recent trip to the Netherlands, this was by far... More
