Just got back from a lovely run with Frans. I I asked when booking if we could extend the run to 10k as opposed to be typical rude and they happily obliged. All in all, I think we did around 11k and I was able to see parts of the city that I never would have known to explore on my own -including instruments that were absolutely gorgeous.
I am not a talker when I run. Frans was able to keep up a running (pun intended) commentary with lots of history, stories, information about on going cultural events.
For context, I run a lot at home and am always training for some kind of endurance race. Frans get the pace up so I really felt like I was still getting a workout in, he made regular stops for sight seeing.
I highly recommend to serious runner who are new to the city and looking to get their bearings, as well as not so serious runners interested in the history and touring aspect. They will match your pace!
I also have to say that as a woman who runs alone a lot (with all the safety concerns that brings), it was great to be able to get out with a running partner while it's still dark and not have to worry about being alone. I don't think Amsterdam has many issues in that department, but for my first run in this City, it was nice to not have that nagging concern the back of my mind.
Wonderful experience!
