Just FYI- lots of museum renovations going on in Amsterdam. Just visted in August 2009 and the Modern is closed, but has some stufff in Van Gogh, the Van Gogh is thus limited, the Rijks is under construction but semi open- you enter around the side (right if facing from canal) and it has 14 rooms open- enough, but barely.... more

I loved seeing the masters: Rembrandt, Vermeer, etc. Most of the museum is closed for renovation...I can only imagine what the rest of the awesome building looks like.
