I visited the Rijksmuseum in August 2009, hoping to find a wide variety of interesting Dutch art. I was disappointed. We went to the Rijksmuseum on Saturday April 25. Arrived to stand in line for 45 minutes from 1000h to 1045h as we watched tour groups march straight in. I loved seeing the masters: Rembrandt, Vermeer, etc. Most of the museum is closed for renovation...I can only imagine what the rest of the awesome building looks like. This is probably one of the best galleries I have ever been to. From the absurdly huge ancient dollhouses to the wonderful intricate Vermeers (The Milkmaid is just enchanting), I was in awe at every step. Please go to this gallery! more
