Really nice location with outdoor seating right down on the canal. Lots of options for drinks. We didn't eat, but those who did had lots of attention from the ducks that came right up out of the canal to see if anyone was in the mood to share. More

Jenever is sold here, and you must try! (juniper-flavored and strongly alcoholic traditional liquor of the Netherlands). Cute little bar with a nice upstairs mezzanine level if the bar is packed. Must stop by if in the area. More

I don't know why this place features in nightlife as its brilliant in the day too! Visited following Anne Frank for soup and apple pie. Better than Winkels and the setting, staff and ambience are far superior! Wish we'd come back on our last day or even visited at night! Make sure you put this place high up your wish... More

Cafe 't Smalle has some of the most pituresque terras seating in all of Amsterdam. You can literally sit on a floating terrras, right on the Egelantiersgracht (canal), along with several tables and benches on solid ground to. There is also ample seating inside, with an upper room that looks out to the canal as well. In 1780 Pieter Hoppe... More

We went to this cafe based on Trip Advisor reviews. We had a fabulous suprise of a special evening of Spanish dishes paired with Sherry wines from the region This was combined with live music and entertainement. It was a wonderful relaxing evening with locals. The owner was welcoming and very friendly. We will return again. More

Probably one of the best cafes in Amsterdam. No music and no tv. A place to relax. More

Came here for a drink before dinner and to escape the cold winter weather. This pub has nice red wine and local beers on tap. We also tried one of the local delicacies, spicy meat balls. Nice and quaint upstairs area and the bar tender spoke perfect English, there is also an English menu. Great place to stop and experience... More

I sat outside earlier this week waiting fro friends who were visiting the Anne Frank Huis on the other side of the canal. Great to be close to the water, and a lovely spot. The service was good, and the hot chocolate scrummy. When my friends arrived we moved inside as it had turned chilly. Comfortable and friendly service. Definately... More
