When viewing the Science center NEMO, the nautical nature of the region is abundantly apparent. The shape of the building, takes it's shape from the rising bow of a ship, and it's green coppery hue, is unmistakable against the skyline. It is a beacon, and begs investigation, and is well worth the visit. It is only a 15minute walk from... More

Don't let that fool you... my wife went crazy at this museum checking out all of the hundreds of interactive displays. Everything from real DNA and great explanations to build your own child animations, to water play for the kids, and discovery of the body and on and on. Plus being typically Dutch, it was very thorough, more so than... More

Like we were in Star Trek... Everything is super technological! Unfortunately, we were there in "free museums weekend" (14 April) and it was very crowded, there have been many attractions that we couldn't get (we had I Amsterdam Card, which is for free). But it doesn't mattered so much and, at last, already concluded that, like my daughter, and I... More

The rule there is that you have to touch everything you see at nemo!! Basically it is a science center for kids, they explain some of the basics principle of science by using games that you can try out. It is quite interesting on my opinion, when I went there I found plenty of visitors, mostly kids but also some... More

We spent here all day and it was enough. We tried everything for the several times. Lots of activities. Our kid loved most of all water filtering and weighing colored balls :) Keep in mind that there is almost nothing to eat! Only hot-dogs, vegetarian pizzas, ice-cream and so on on the top floor only. No any regular food at... More

So it's give beautiful view. Here you can learn your childhood physics & science concepts like how to generate electricity, delay in voice, echo,... More

We went their with our two kids (6 and 8 years) and my uncle and aunt. We went by train (came from the south of The Netherlands). From Central Station it is walkable distance (about 5 min.). As it was on a sunday, it was a bit crowdy. But we went directly up, to the top level, where we could... More

I am not a science graduate, but I am interested in understanding it. NEMO is great place where things are explained in simple terms and examples. I liked the movie about the atoms. They really helped the parents on certain topics which patents may not talk to their kids. Like sex. Its good to see. Certain subjects you won't understand... More

The ideal place to go with your family! Experiments are really amazing, there are many games to play and Renzo Piano's Restaurant is a good place for lunch, with dutch and italian specialities! The shop also has many interesting games, puzzles and books. There's also a small part about sex, for adults only More
