Palace is not open to the public for tours when there is a royal in residence or an official function going on. We unfortunately only saw the outside of the building for this reason. Check the palace website for the monthly calendar of open days. More

The Royal Palace on Dam Square has been closed for refurbishment for a long time and that shows: it is in impeccable condition.
