The surrounding streets have many restaurants, bars and clubs where you can get pretty much anything you want.... More

Rembrandtplein is a very pleasant square with many bars and cafes. On the square you often see street musicians and there is a relaxing atmosphere. It is also easily accessible by subway and bus. More

For a long time, Rembrandtplein has been a center of Amsterdam night life, with strings of bars and cafes and hotels making up almost 100 percent of the surrounding facades. The square itself recently received an upgrade, which certainly had done lots of good, but the architecture still tends to be hidden behind large billboards and signs. When you're here,... More

This area had been considered a popular social gathering place and famous for nightlife for decades. Name after the famous Dutch painter, who painted the great “Night Watch”; his huge statue was in the middle of the square. This place used to be good for a drink (beer or coffee) and people watching. It was running downhill these days and... More

Highly recommended if you want generic overpriced bars and clubs (literally, some are franchises which exist in several Dutch cities) filled with generic drunk or stoned tourists. Avoid in all other cases. More
