Our hotel was just steps away from this lively area chock full of indoor & outdoor cafes, many street entertainers, jugglers, accordionists, ect. The Boom Chicago Theatre is in this square & restaurant row is nearby with a multitude of ethnic restaurants...Italian (Ristorante Peppino - Leidsekruisstraat 32 was a favorite...we had the veal with eggplant)..we also liked the Satellite Sports... more

Sorry for the word but this is the only place in Amsterdam where you can feel the nice european cultural athmosphere. It's busy, lots of cafes, doesn't smell with canabis... more

Leidseplein If you love food and are up for trying new things then this is one to visit. Its made up of several streets just full of resturants from all over the world. Well, unfortunately our trip to Amsterdam was only for a weekend, because most of our vacation was spent throughout Germany which was great also. Amsterdam is like a a completely different world.
