There was a complete mix of art from the 15th century to the present, some special pieces worth the visit alone--a Goya portrait of Don Ramon Satue, a portrait of Pablo Casals, A Rene Magritte(Le modele rouge III). The explanations were excellent, sometimes witty. There is a modern annex with big installations for those who like that sort of thing... More

You cannot miss this museum, the trip to Rotterdam was totally worth it because of this museum, it has a great exposition with really important names, there's a lot to see, you could stay there for hours, there's an explanation for each painting! about the story of the painting and the painter, one of my favorite museums so far, and... The Boijmans Van Beuningen museum has a lot to offer for everybody. Their collection is big and therefore only part of it is constantly on display. This gives them the opportunity to display a wide variety of items to please every visitor. Starting for the old masters to contemporary art and everything in between can be found on the first... The Boymans can be reached ever more easily since the adjacent parking garage has opened. On show: quite diverse exhibitions. Well known for their classical art collection, but creative when it comes to modern art as well More

We recently visited the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. The collection is thoughtfully arranged with information in English as well as Dutch. Some of the descriptions made us laugh because they had a definite point of view—ie. one of them said something to the effect of 'if Rotterdam's city father's hadn't been so cheap we would have a Vermeer here rather... The good thing about this museum, it has a wide collection, not only the masters and another thing... it is not that crowded!... We had a nice time, though i prefer the Maurits huis in The Hague. More

Happy to be back here after some years. The permanent collections were even better than I remembered. And the temporarily exhibitions are always interesting. Don't miss it. On Wensdays the admission is free. More

The building is lovely, partly winding around a kind of garden atrium. The regular collection comprises paintings by many international 20th century painters, and the design section is definitely worth visiting. More
