Not only the paintings by Mondriaan, but the building designed by Berlage are both well worth a vsit. For kids the special exhibition in the basement could be interestng, but they are better entertained in the nearby Museon. More

Did visit last Sunday the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague to see the Collection of the Mauritshuis which will be there untill 2014 when the new MH will be ready to open. You will be amazed how beautiful the lightning is over here. Poor in the original museum. You feel happy to see back all the paintings you know so well.... More

This is a wonderful museum in its own right which is now even better with the masterpieces from the Mauritshuis here. The museum itself has very interesting architecture. There are extensive displays of Alexander Calder, Piet Mondriaan, and the De Stijl artists that are first class. We were disappointed the Mauritshuis was closed during our visit, but a trip here made up for it. The building itself was terrific (hard o believe it was designed in the 30s) and the combination of a Calder exhibit with the great Mondrian collection made it a highlight of our visit to The Hague. Mondriaan is not just about the "De Stijl" period he is most known for. In this museum, you will see works that will inform you about his evolution as an artist. For example, he also drew beautiful flowers and trees! I love the architecture of this museum. Definitely worth a visit! More
