We went here after finishing up the sights of Antwerp. We should have started our day here. I think this is one of the best zoos I've ever visited and definently the best in Europe. I highly recommend this zoo to anyone regardless of age but it is a bit pricey at 22 euro for adults. More

We "popped into" the zoo intending to spend a couple of hours prior to shopping. We stayed for over 5 hours! Although small by comparison, the zoo is well planned on different levels and has a great variety of birds, insects and animals. Grounds and gardens are well maintained and there are plenty of places to sit and rest your... More

The zoo is changing for the good. A lot of space for the animals, and still more changes to come in the following years. More

Visiting Antwerp without seeing the zoo ... you should at least be punished ! This is one of the greatest of its kind. Every year they keep adding animals and renovating the scenery. So you know what to do ! More

I've been going to the Antwerp Zoo since I was a little child, and I can still enjoy it. The Zoo has found an elegant mix of 19th century and modern buildings, has a nice park , and the animals are a treat for the old as well as the young. More

Despite being under partial construction, it managed to keep an elegant charm about it. The original building still have that alure, that golden scent of the turn of the century. One could still feel that somewhere in Africa, an adventurous rebel was capturing wild beasts for captivity. Not that I agree with that! I felt a bit sad in the... More

Belgian friends brought me here to spend some time before my train to Paris. I was surprised to find this oasis in the city center. With a good variety of animals who seemed well cared for, and lovely landscape, I think the zoo requires a 2 hr visit. I do feel that the entry cost was excessive at 22 EU... More

You can find this zoo beside Antwerp's Central Station and as one of the oldest zoo's in the world the architecture is impressive. The zoo is not overly large but is not small either so allow at least a few hours to see the main attractions. The zoo has some beautifully kept grounds and the enclosures are a mix of... More

The Antwerp Zoo is smack in the middle of the city, next to the Central Station (also worth a visit). The animals are almost all housed in new surroundings that resemble their natural habitat. At the gates, pick up the paper with all the feeding times, and make sure you visit your favorite animals being fed (don't forget the pinguins,... More
