I must disagree with many of the others. I am a retired American academic who spent a whole day (4 September '09) in Waterloo and had a wonderful experience. My advice: 1. Take the train, not a bus. Firstly, I would only make the effort to see Waterloo if you're very interested in the Battle and are really determined to see it . The trip there from the train station in Brussels consisted of a nearly 2 1/2 hour slow bus ride through inner Brussels and all of the adjacent suburbs. And the bus only comes about every... more

We weren't not sure how long we would need to see everything when we visited on on our way to Brussels. We were there about 3 hours which was enough time to see everything we wanted to see. 11th June 2006 We Arrived at waterloo train station from Charleroi after walking around in a big circle for 2 hour we found wellington's museum. which was superb highly I recommend a visit to it we then went over to the tourist to find out how to get to the battlefield. that is the only down side NO TOURIST SIGNS.... more

I was very disappointed in this. The Lion's Mound, of course, was awesome!!! And the wax museum was pretty good. But the film and the panorama were boring, boring, boring. The people in the visitor's center and gift shop were rude and the selection in the gift shop was very poor. The cafe was closed (on a Saturday)as was another... more

Visited on 12 august, previously you could buy tickets seperately to some of the attractions, but now 1 ticket does all the attractions. I think you can seperate tickets, but the best part is the visitor centre. Ther are a few boards with info before you enter the first 'cinema'.
