Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Interactive exhibition on the background and culture of Brussels. Available in French, Dutch, and English.
There are a lot of different rooms to explore and many interactive points to get an in depth view of this dynamic city.
Unfortunately a few of the projects didn't work when I visited, but entry is free and if it's not too busy, it's a great place to explore and learn more about the people living here.

One of my favourite museums in Brussels, very interactive, very interesting place to spend an hour or so. I think kids would really enjoy it as well.

Visited here and it was very inexpensive and a decent quality museum. Much more interactive and informative than other museums about the city of Brussels.

Not free as some have said, but only cost around €10 for our family of 4. Very quiet on a Saturday in September (we were basically the only ones there, but interesting history of Belgium and some fun activities for the kids.

A lengthier visit to the free exhibition Experience Brussels on the first floor of the Tourist Information Centre BIP is a good option on a rainy day, but even on sunny days BIP seems a good place to start. As architecture lovers, we like the opportunity to enter the 18th century building, which is part of the attractive neoclassical ensemble around Place Royale. The entrance hall and the marble staircase date from 1920 when the Lloyds & National Provincial Foreign Bank Ltd had its offices here. In the room to the right some old bank counters can still be seen. To the left of the entrance there is a brilliant book and gift shop providing a lot of free information on Brussels. Experience Brussels on the first floor uses a varied and interactive approach. The large floor map on which specific sights (churches, parks, etc.) can be highlighted by pushing a button, while a large picture is projected in the back is useful to get your bearings. The computer quiz on the European Union is also nice. We found the narrow corridors a bit claustrophobic, but fortunately there are arrows on the floor to prevent you from getting lost.

Some of the reviews on this page are reviewing the metro rather than this brilliant museum!
I, 21, visited with my 17 year old sister and we enjoyed it! We came for the Christmas market but ended up here, and thought we'd spend some time inside as it was rather chilly! The exhibitions are very interactive with multiple translations provided. The exhibitions are about the history of Brussels and the European Union and an interesting history lesson without being dull or boring.
There's also a lovely green screen room with a chance to take pictures and set them against many backgrounds of Brussels. Also has a gift shop.

Having been in Brussels several short times before, I never realised the many surprises round every corner. The centre of the City is unquestionably the Grande Place the huge square always teaming with action and year round tourist hub. From there in all directions are streets offering above all gourmets delights for which Brussels is deservedly famous and especially seafood with mouthwatering displays in front of preliferations of restaurants in the sorrounding streets and alleys. For luxury shopping, chocolates, and other diversities, there is something for everyone, preferably with a deep purse! ...No visit is complete without going to one of the markets, brick-a-brack, art effects, etc. The City is home of offices of EEC, NATO, etc. etc. with major part of the population being ex-pats from all over the world, plus the bilingual locals, one often wonders where one is.....unfortunately, there is something lacking due to this absence of specific character, though one feels distinctly ...well 'european' ?

I walked into BIP near the royal palace to get information on the city and chanced upon this 'expo' on level 2. I was the only person at the exhibition and the attendant was super friendly. I had fun sending e-postcards of myself, taking the quiz on EU etc. There was even an area for kids so this must be a very family-oriented place. A hidden gem in a superb location!
